1 month & 5 days old

HI EVERYONE!

Its been 1 month plus since I passed my 2B TP.

Am I riding yet? No.
Am I still interested in riding in the future? Definitely!

So why am I not riding yet?

Because of my PRIORITIES! I decided to wait until I get a full-time job before buying a motorcycle. Having graduated since this year late jan, I'm still job-hunting. Even though I still do have my savings and am currently working part-time, my income isn't fixed so I feel that motorcycle expenses like; servicing, road tax, insurance, bike gears etc, will take a toll on my bank account eventually so yeah....

I find myself staring at motorcyclists and their gorgeous motorcycles on the road all the time and I'm always admiring motorcycles at my house's multistorey carpark, like the duke 390, r15 and ducati monster etc hahaha. As much as it pains me, I feel getting a full-time job will make more sense.

The bikes I'm currently looking at are the FZ16 and MSX125.. I know the latter cost alot more! Plus I'm vertically challenged la so I feel the grom will make me feel safer (So I can touch the ground haha). I tried the pulsar 200ns before and had to constantly tiptoe so I feel it's quite unsafe for me. Personal preference lah I guess! I rather have firm footing on the ground.

Looking at both the fz16 and msx125 makes my heart eager to start riding!! Maybe this will give me motivation to settle down in the full-time working world as soon as possible!

I really really REALLLLLLY miss my 2b learning days, riding the CB125E at BBDC, doing narrow plank, figure 8 "S" course.. But I don't miss the ebrake station ahahahah, that station always makes me nervous.

Hehe not yet, after a getting a ft job! :) I've gone for bike viewings though, uncles there say can help me adjust this and that and cut bike seat to shorten it for me.

All the best by the way!! have you been going for RC/SP/RR frequently?

oh that nice. Which bike shop have u been to recently? haha so far i still think buying 2nd had from other people is safer haha.

Yeap. So far only one RR though. Need to go for more RR. and maybe a few SP also. So worried if make stupid mistakes on the test day :(

recently i have also been eyeing bikes haha. XR125L somehow captured my interest. A nice low motard.

I went browsing for bikes at queenstown area, lots of bike shops! heard kaki bukit have alot too. Ok la both shops and 2nd hand owners got good and bad hahah, shops can help you one shot settle all the insurance etc! but then again transfer of ownership also won't take up much time.

I think for me, you have to not be nervous!! I doubt on your TP day you'll be as unlucky as me, got stuck behind 2 cars moving side by side at same speed immediately after moving off from starting point ahahha. Hope your designated bike is good too!! :D

Haha how tall are you by the way?

ZACK said...

@joyce haha yeah the short process of getting bike from owner attracts me hehe :D

wow thats unlucky! haha omg yes! do we get to choose the bikes or is it all allocated? i kinda prefer the bike in bbdc with the larger throtthle grip. They tend to have lower freeplay and allows me to control much better.

Shoes for me also plays a role haha. I need to get a shoe with rubber sole so that i wont slip off the break.

haha im not so tall. 1.66m i think. need to get short bikes also.

Everybody will be called out row by row, bikes will be taken at random :) maybe you can start aiming the bikes you like and remember the bike number, thats what I did!

Yeah totally get what you mean ahahha lots of times my right foot slid off brake pedal especially after my ebrake station hahaha.

1.66m is good lah! can fit majority of the 2b bikes already unlike me, must tiptoe with bbdc bikes when the bike is straight lol.

@Joyce oh we can choose from a few bikes is it?

haha my shoes loosing its rubber grip. initially i thought it was oil on the pedal but i realise without oil its also slippery:( gonna get a new shoe soon and start practicing with it..

haha u mean while braking at eBreak? i dont usually right foot down but like it feels slippery.

haha bbdc bikes quite nice but quite hard to find :P Im already going down to view bikes haha hopefully i pass on 21/4 :D

@joyce Btw joyce do u know if 2 stroke are more expensive to maintain?
i heard that 2 stroke needs a lot of maintenance while 4stroke less maintainance but if need its going to be super expensive.

Its first come first serve! all the bikes will already be in the mini circuit instead of lining up in a long row cos the mechanics will check and test the bikes beforehand.
All the first few numbers and rows will be called out first so if you're young, your row will take the remaining few bikes!

Quickly find a footwear and practice with it!! I like the bbdc bikes too, height all that just nice and easy to manage. Where do you intend to view bikes at? 3 more weeks to go!

And yes 2 stroke bikes are definitely more expensive to maintain. Furthermore you have to mix 2T oil! All the parts replacement and servicing will also be more expensive, P-plate insurance too. Haha so I'll advise to get 4 stroke bikes actually :)

Haha yeah its quite nice the CB125E haha. perfect height. haha oh i only went down to meet direct owners. i think usually they are cheaper than shop? haha im not working so quite tight on budget. Trying to find a bike with coe till 2017 for around 2k ish.

haha have u considered the honda phantom?

joycelee said...

So what bikes have you gone to view already? yeah direct sellers normally cheaper :D

My friend showed me a ybr, left 2 years+ priced at around 2k+! Selling at this uniquemotor bike shop, you may wanna check that out!

@joyce haha im currently deciding on this CBF150. looks not that bad. speed not that fast (max 110). Heavy bike but good cause no vibration. GOOD FC @ 40km/l. just a good commuter bike haha.
but my hearts tell me to go for pulsar or cbr.

Haha 2k+ but confirm got some transfer fee this fee that fee then become 3k+ haha. my budget only 3k for bike and insurance as i plan to go on exchange soon :D

Hi Joyce, congratulations on ur passing of 2B, make sure u get friends that have exp in bike or sth before u buy them. As some bike shops are famous for chopping people's carrot head.
Lastly, ride safe as u start your journey as biker!
Cheers!
Melvin
